bash: make: command not found

Trying to compile 2.4.17 from 2.4.5 in slack 8.
I've been a compiling...reinstallin mofo for the last 24 hrs.
No problems until now.
when 'make mrproper' returned that error, my newb arse thought....hrms....must mean there are no stale dependencies.

so then I try 'make menuconfig' same thing...
ok..reboot ( works for windows )
again with the bash: make: command not found

Is this a normal issue that I just haven't come across yet or have I really f00ked some stuff up?

Had you been using the 'make' command previously? If so, try using the command with a fully qualified path to the 'make' command. First type 'which make' it should return '/usr/bin/make' or something like that. Now try '/usr/bin/make menuconfig' and see if that works. If you get 'make' not found when you run 'which make' then make is not installed and you'll have to go
here to get it. Or you can get it here also.

hrms...returned 'no make in' and a bunch of dirs

Followed the link you posted above and after just a few secs of scanning the page, I realized that the last 2 times I installed, I didn't include the Development package.

I'm installing AGAIN...my guess is that I will not have that problem again.......now if I can just figure out this USB shiat.

Thanks d3funct
