VSAM files are a high-performance access method for mainframe operating systems (i.e., MVS, OS/390, VSE/ESA). You would need a utility to do what you want, using SOAP, XML, etc.

Thanks for replies.

I have COBOL programs containing VSAM files that were developed in Mainframes. Now I want to port those COBOL programs to AIX. What changes should I do for VSAM file accessing inside COBOL programs so that it will work in AIX.
