How to change computer name?

(OS) FreeBSD 5.0-release

Hi, I need some help! When I installed freebsd I wanted to use it as a desktop but X wouldn't start unless I entered a domain name. So I named it Oliver@localhost.local and all went well after that until I tried to set up my mail account. I can receive mail just fine but I can't send. I worked on this a while with no success so I decided to sniff the connection this is what I found. The problem is in the handshake. The mail server is trynig to respond to my computer name witch is Oliver@localhost.local which is not a valid host. So in short I believe if I can change my computer name it should work but I'm not sure how to do that?

Your /etc/rc.conf now contains the following line:

Change it to the new hostname. However, I think it is not a good thing to use "@" and the word "localhost" in the hostname.
Your hostname should be be like "".
