Serial printer for FreeBSD

I have FreeBSD 6.2 and am trying to get it to print. I have a serial cable (not USB) connected to an HP LaserJet 6P.

Should I try to set this up with CUPS (which seems to work fine in Slackware) or LDP? Or is there a better way altogether?

Any help would be appreciated.
