I have an AlphaServer ES40 running NetBSD 3.0's alpha port. It's been running for a few weeks just fine. The server boots off a drive in an external ultra2 scsi enclosure, with some other mounted disks under /u0# mountpoints. They are not raided via software or hardware.
For a while, I will also have a Sun T3 SAN to play with as well. I already have installed one of the classic 64bit Compaq Fibre Channel Adapters (SC type), and from the server's dmesg one can see it is recognized:
Code:
Compaq product 0xa0fc (Fiber Channel serial bus, revision 0x06) at pci0 dev 3 function 0 not configured
isp0 at pci0 dev 4 function 0: QLogic 1020 Fast Wide SCSI HBA
isp0: interrupting at dec 6600 irq 20
scsibus0 at isp0: 16 targets, 8 luns per target
The StorEdge is connected to the fibre card in the server, and on the StorEdge side I've verified a volume exists:
Code:
san1:/:<4>vol list
volume capacity raid data standby
v1 585.5 GB 5 u1d1-9 none
Now how I get about creating a filesystem on the san and then mounting it, I have no idea. I can't even find the sources for fdisk since it doesnt seem to be on the alpha port...or I missed it somewhere. Normally I know NetBSD would recognize disks on the scsibus, however one can see from my dmesg output above that no disks are being recognized on scsibus0.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
