installing mysql and php4 results in a conflict

hello again

i installed mysql from ports ("pkg_add -r mysql41-client" and then "pkg_add -r mysql41-server") and then i did the same for apache and finally php4.

my ports are up-to-date so php fails because the client extension is older than the version currently installed. after playing around with it appears that php4 is trying to install it and the message appears to be different from a dependency type message.

does anyone know how to eliminate the conflict without stepping backward in php versions?

thanks

pkg_add is not using ports bro you would have to be in the ports dir, example:

> cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql41-server/
> make install clean

Ive had trouble using packages, so I usually just cvsup ports to get the most updated tree, and then install whatever I need to

Well...

after much looking and touching i think this mysql is hosed.

i ran make clean, make deinstall and pkg_delete.

however, when i try the install again it many errors.

is there something more to do in terms of clean up?

thanks!
