How to setup vesa framebuffer?

In grub booting a linux kernel, if I just put vesa=791 etc the apropriate screens resolution, font size is set.

Are there any such options or commands for FreeBSD's boot loader ? Or maybe any script that might set the correct screen resolution etc ?

I combed through the man pages of vid-control and couldn't get the resolution right. Anyone else has had luck ?
