freebsd 8.2 release - wireless

Over the weekend I tried to set up the wireless on FreeBSD8.2 amd64 but I messed something up and wpa_supplicant seemed to crash the system. I reinstalled Freebsd and now I'm going to need your help. The box is not connected to the net (The router is too far to connect it through the ethernet cable so I'm trying to set up wifi.

It's a usb Zydas wifi network adapter.
When I type ifconfig, it is recognised, so I assume I don't need to install any drivers. Am I right?

Code:
zyd0: flags=8802<BROADCAST,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 2290
ether 00:02.......
media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect (autoselect)
status: no carrier
As suggested by the zyd specifications
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?q...SD+8.2-RELEASE
I added (to /boot/loader.conf:
Code:
if_zyd_load="YES"
as well as:

wlan_wep_load="YES"
wlan_ccmp_load="YES"
wlan_tkip_load="YES"
I assume it's for all drivers (because in the freebsd documentation Atheros is used as an example)

I'm getting stuck at:
Code:
# ifconfig wlan0 create wlandev zyd0
ifconfig: interface wlan0 does not exist.
The interfaces I've got are: re0, fwe0, fwip0, lo0, zyd0

What's the next step I'm supposed to do.

Thank you for your time.

Try that and reboot, that 'setup' should allow You to use WPA/WPA2 connestion to Your wireless router:

/boot/loader.conf
Code:
if_zyd_load=YES
/etc/rc.conf
Code:
wlans_zyd0=wlan0
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA DHCP"
/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
Code:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=wheel

network={
  ssid="network1"
  psk="password1"
}

Please send this image along with as much possible information like uname -a/pciconf -lv/dmesg/vmstat -i here: http://www.freebsd.org/send-pr.html

As You will create this BUG report someone from FreeBSD developers should reply in short amount of time to resolve the issue, its probably an issue in if_zyd.ko driver, but I am not a developer

Thanks. How would I get to the command line because at the moment I can't boot the system? It freezes at that stage. I'd like to remove the zyd driver and try some other wifi adapter. I've spent a good few days doing it so I don't want to give up now.

At that screen press 6: http://figs.cyberciti.biz/howtos/fre...ingle-user.png

Then write this:
Code:
> unload
> disable-module if_zyd
> boot
