FreeBSD 5.2.1 installation problem

I'm trying install FreeBSD 5.2.1 on my laptop.

Averatec - AM-XPM-2800.

No matter what I select at the beginning of the installation,
( disable ACPI, safe mode, single user mode etc.)
the installation process hung shortly after with following line:

uhci0: <VIA 83C572 USB controller> port 0x1800-0x181f irq 21 at device 16.0 on pci0

Any thoughts?

go into the BIOS and disable USB, if you can, that is....

you should be able to boot after that, and then work from there i guess.
