FreeBSD 5.1 Installation Problem

hi....

I having problem installing freebsd 5.1 it said "Unable to find device node for /dev/x in /dev. The Creation of filesystem will be aborted"...

I already install red hat 9.0 and windows 2000 pro....

What partition are you trying to install FreeBSD on? If you are not installing it on a primary partition, then the install will fail. I don't know if this is your problem, but it's the only one I have come across when trying to install FreeBSD.

I'm trying to install it on the 3rd partion..............

my 1st partion was linux RH (ext3), and 2nd is windows 2000 pro(NTFS)

By the way got solution to this problem?

well i find out the problem is that evertime i try to create a new slice on that particular hard drive in the unused partion, the name or label turn out to be "x" rather then ad0e or ad0 something............

so can anyone help me?
