I got a new laptop and installed Zenwalk on it. To my surprise everything worked right out of the box. However since nothing is perfect, I do have a couple of problems:
1) The kernel starts very slow. I get the text "Loading zenwalk" (or something like that) and then those dots. Each dot takes nearly a second to appear
Slackware's kernel booted _much_ faster on a slower machine, so I'm thinking there must be something wrong with this. Once the kernel is up, the system performs as it should.
2) GDM only lets me login every other time?! I.e. Login->Logout->Login displays boot messages and returns to GDM login-screen instead of opening a session. After that login works again.
Any ideas on these?
