new user -mozilla won't connect to internet

i have zenwalk 4.3.3.1
& xfce 4.2.2

i've tried using an ip
google's 216.239.51.99
with no luck.

i see no network settings
& have problems working in command line

gAIM says "server disconnects"

network card has blinking lights
like its hitting household router

any hints?

A better check to use the ifconfig command as root:

ifconfig

As root you can get a more specific answer as to how far your request goes with:

traceroute google.com

May be best to install Zenwalk 4.8
Version 4.3 is rather old.

Network settings are in System > Zenpanel
Wireless Settings are in Network > Wifi-radar

version 4.3.3.1 never existed (4.3 as well)...
please send the output of:
cat /etc/zenwalk-version
