netpkg zenwalk mirror?

Hello all,

I did a netpkg update and got the following error message:

Unable to connect to http://mirror.meleeweb.net/pub/linux...k/i486/current, please check the network or choose another mirror cleaning temporary files and saving meta information

How does one choose another mirror using netpkg?

All help is appreciated in advance.

zenmike

Have you read and tried this documentation?

Smile netpkg zenwalk mirrors?

Thanks Xian,

I went to the url and tried the suggestion there to select the GUI version of netpkg and there was a "mirror' selection which had a "browse mirror" choice which I selected. I was able to successfully choose an updateed version of the Zenwalk manual and install it.

I then did a "netpkg upgrade" and there came a warning "This will upgrade the whole system. Do you wish to proceed?" I thought to myself, I have not backed up my home directory, and since this is my primary system I have a lot to lose. So I chose 'abort" and am now typing this reply to you.

In any case, thanks to you I am able to browse and choose new mirrors.

As soon as I back up my home directory I will go back to netpkg upgrade and will upgrade my system. It has been a long time since I upgraded my system and I am willing to take that choice and its consequent risks after backing up my home directory.

In gratitude:

zenmike
