Where is Yoper's Home page?

For the past several days I have been unable to reach www <dot> Yoper <dot> com

Anyone know why?

Hope everything's OK there as I love Yoper.

They are just snowed under with success chances are they'll be up again soon. There is a mirror:
http://ftp.roedu.net/pub/mirrors/ftp.yoper.com/yoper/

... but you knew that.

As one of the admins on the site, I have been trying to organise getting this sorted. The problem has been flagged up with the hosting company - so hopefully it will be sorted soon. I am not sure exactly what has happened - but it seems to be a problem with the hosting rather than a problem with Yoper.com itself.
I was hoping it would have been fixed by now - but it seems to still be down
The teams own internal mail system is also affected - so we are having to communicate via our own private mail addresses.
Its one of those really inconvenient annoyances - the guy who usually deals with the hosting - Tobias - is away at the moment, and so he is not able to be reached. He would be my usual port of call for these issues. However, the provider has been informed - although they don't seem to have sorted it yet.
Apologies to all - its just as frustrating for the team as for Yoper users.
As soon as I hear anything, I shall post it here.
In the meantime, as Simon mentions - the actual repository stuff i still available from the mirrors. But not the forum itself unfortunately.
If anyone has any issues which they would normally raise on the forum, please feel free to ask on here for now - I am around from time to time and I can call on other users for input

Thanks
As a yoper user myself, I know how annoying it is when the forum goes down. I was like a headless chicken in December when the site was offline for some time!
I have chased up the issue again this morning - but without direct access to the hosting company - or any idea whats happened to the actual connection - I can't do much
But it makes sense to check this forum to see if people have problems which I - or others - can assist with in the meantime
Just so Tim doesn't feel alone, I have a whole load of emails from team members who are missing the yoper.com site As am I!
Mark

ps - hanging around the yoper irc channel at freenode may also be of use if anyone is stuck. Although it tends to be quiet in there, in the evenings (GMT), it usually has a couple of team members there - generally pettern and myself.

As you may have noticed, the site is back online
Seems our initial request for a check of the server was ignored or overlooked. I chased them up last night and to be fair they responded very quickly - and the server issue was fixed within 15 minutes.
That left us with a small sql error - which was sorted later by Andreas.
So all is well in yoper.com today
Thanks for your patience everyone.

Huh ... there can't be many distros where you can talk your troubles over with team members in real time

Either yoper will become so huge this will no longer be possible or main distros will pay attention and start taking more care optimising their packages. (or both - or neither - or ... ahhhrg!)

I'm collecting distros for install fests and yoper just moved up the list.

Our irc channel isn't usually very busy, but its something which I personally feel is a useful addition to the support yoper can offer to users. Of course, some issues are better taken up on the forums - those which are more involved for instance - but general enquiries or simple problems are sorted in the irc
As a rule, pettern is generally around in there, and I float in and out - more usually in the evenings (UK time).
But any issues which need urgent help can always be raised in the forum or even via a PM to one of the team. Thats one of the great things about Yoper - the team are always around - either in the forum or maybe the irc.
Like you say, its possible that if Yoper becomes a huge distro that we could lose that friendly feel - but I for one would fight that! My own role is technically Team Co-Ordinator and admin for the forum and wiki ( and op in the irc) -but I still poke around in the support side of things
Simon,if you are looking for distros to test out,I would hang on a few weeks for the next Yoper release. The 2.2 release should be a vast improvement on 2.1 - including some useful changes - such as including anaconda.
I must admit to enjoying testing other distros myself

Thanks - will bear that in mind. I've been feeling a new release was close.

I was originally attracted because (see my location).
I watched review climb from v1 "Worth watching - they're serious" to "You gotta see this to believe it."

Since I'm on an island - downloading the iso's is a serious issue (copper lines wot go under water put there in the 50's ...) so I don't do it very often anyway.
