Savage IX 3d acceleration help needed

Hi,I cannot get any acceleration under 5.8 gold Vector linux and XFCE.I have uncommented "dri" and "glx" as I did successfully in Slackware 12 and am using the savage driver.

Section "Device"
Identifier "** S3 Savage (generic) [savage]"
Driver "savage"
Option "ShadowStatus"
Option "BusType" "PCI"
Option "DmaMode" "None"
#VideoRam 8192
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection

glxinfo | grep rendering
direct rendering: No

-Help please.By the way this vectorlinux is very very good.I just need this one detail fixed.....just noticed that vector 5.8 uses xorg 6.9.
