Xubuntu 12.10 does not save screen brightness

my Xubuntu does not save the setup of the screen brightness.
I already check on Internet for such problem.
I did the following actions but it does not work at all.

In file /etc/acpi/ I put the following :

cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness > /etc/acpi/brightness

save file

sudo chmod +x /etc/acpi/
cd /etc/rc0.d
sudo ln -s ../acpi/ K99-save-brightness

Do same in the /etc/rc6.d directory

edit /etc/rc.local:
cat /etc/acpi/brightness > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
save file.

Found this thread at Ubuntu. Trying these commands might help.

.. for full brightness, or...
sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 f4.b=33

Hope these links help.
