I don't know why Wine would be in your /home folder, not if you installed it through Synaptic/apt-get/Adept.

For more on Wine in Ubuntu:
http://www.psychocats.net/linux/wine

As for your mounted Windows partition, we'll need more information to diagnose the problem. Can you go to Applications > Accessories > Terminal (if you're using Ubuntu) or KMenu > System > Konsole (if you're using Kubuntu)?

That'll open a terminal where you'll have a prompt that looks something like
Code:
torger@ubuntu:~$
At that prompt, type
Code:
sudo fdisk -l
type
Code:
df -h
and then type
Code:
cat /etc/fstab
Then highlight everything in the terminal and copy and paste it into a post here on LinuxQuestions.

Oh, and the password should be your password, when you do
Code:
sudo fdisk -l

The guide to wine didn't help and for now i'm focusing on that I need to open wine. It says wine has been succesfully installed but I can't find wine anywhere.

Did you read the guide? You don't find Wine--you just use it.

For example, if you have a setup.exe file, right-click on it and select open with and then use the command
Code:
wine
to open it.

Wine is helper application. You don't launch it by itself.
You use it to open a .exe (native Windows executable).

It's like asking how to "open" the click function in your mouse. You don't "open" it--you just use it. Just click, and the mouse will open the file for you.

Just use Wine to open the .exe. Don't open Wine by itself. There is no Wine by itself.

Take a look at this screenshot as an example.

Step 1 is right-clicking the FileZilla setup .exe and selecting to open with Wine.
Step 2 is the installation wizard appearing to help me install FileZilla.
