Visual Effects problem


I am using the new Ubuntu Ultimate Edition, and I am having problems with my Visual Effects... when I installed the restricted driver, rebooted, and went to the Visual effects, I changed it to normal or extra, and it say that Desktop effects could not be displayed. what am I doin wrong?

ok... Im still having this problem with regular ubuntu!! please sumone either direct me to the right thread, or please help.

I have a P4, 1GB RAM and a GeForce 6200 card.

when you install the driver, is there just one driver or more than one?
because i have 2 driver and first one is not working like yours.

thank you for being the only person out of about of 100 that viewed this to try to help

but I have solved this problem!!! lol!

who ever has this problem, go to:

http://forlong.blogage.de/entries/pages/Compiz-Check
and install compiz-check to check and see if everything is good to go!

http://forlong.blogage.de/entries/pages/Compiz-Switch
and install compiz-switch to swich compiz on and off.

then I was able to change it to normal or extra!
