User privilege to partition

Hi
Ubuntu 5.10 with gnome

I have a FAT32 partition that I can't read/write to as a user, because it's set with root privileges, I believe. I need to have user access, how would I go about that. Worked by default with SuSE.

Thanks

edit /etc/fstab and for that line either set "umask=000" or explicitly make it owned by that specific user "uid=1000,gid=1000"
