Ubuntu Wireless connection problem

I have ubuntu on a desktop of mine that is wirelessly connected to a router which is a DSL connection. How do get my computer connected to the internet?

I have a Linksys wireless G router, and Linksys wireless G USB adapter hooked to my pc

Adapter Model #: WU5B54G

Is the NIC detected? Is the driver module loaded for it? Does it need ndiswrapper to work?

Providing as much detailed information as possible is more likely to get your questions answered far more quickly.
