I went to its website, it is different, no download for new project,
the last one is version 2.9, 3.0 is expected to have come out already.
It seems that the project has terminated.
Can anyone confirm it?

It has not existed under that name for quite some time. They had no permission to use the Ubuntu name.
Better known as Ultimate Edition.
The site has been down for about a week now. Thee Ego (Mann) has gotten bored, arrested or just forgot to pay the site fees. I am sure it will be back up soon. I do not think it has been down for more than a month in the past although the repos may be down longer than that if they are down too (don't know about that - do not have it installed).
There is a new version to come out soon based on Ubuntu 11.04. Have seen some screen shots. Nice work and looks good if that kind of thing blows your skirt up. I may not be a big fan but they do have some great graphics folks there.

I am not up on that at all. I installed UE in 09. To me it was silly. Installed the Gamers UE too look at it. Thought it was Ultimately silly.
Was using it once a day to check it out when the forum, home page and repo all went down. Continued to use it to check to see if the repo would come up. It did, eventually. I do not know if it is up or down right now. Haven't had an install since the middle of 09 sometime.
From what I have seen in the forums, and heard from folks from there that I ran into on other forums, there is not really an Ultimate team as most OS' have one. It is a few folks, with a lot of talent, that help out the head guy. Seems more like a cult than a team to me. It is Linux, it is their choice.
There are some good folks on the forum, I drop in to visit. That is why I know it is down.
I think it is too bad because I think that they could pick up some disgruntled Ubuntu users when 11.10 comes out.
I think it may permanently discontinued.
My desktop is installed with Ultimate 2.8, it is still working well and all softwares can be updated thru synaptic software manager, just choose the repository nearest to your country and it works as normal Ubuntu.
There are other sites for Ultimate Edition. I suspect the founder got ticked over criticism. He really hypes what he has done. A single guy version maker of Puppy threw a fit recently and took down his site, detroyed all of the Forum discourse and got banned from the official Puppy forum. This is more than a site down thing. People complain they try the links they get from Distrowatch, a version seems to download but they end up with nothing. This guy intentionally linked everything Ultimate Edition to the same nowhere site where you can do nothing, get nothing Ultimate Edition.
You can still get versions 2.9 back to 2.6 by visiting one of the NON-USA blog form Ultimate Edition sites. For some reason, these owners are saying nothing about what's happened, as if nothing happened and 3.0 is still in the works. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything built off Ubuntu 11.04; that turkey has a lot of people hopping mad. The serious problems are much wider and bigger than that joke of a desktop they call Unity. A better name is a big step backward in user friendly and intuitive Linux.
Fortunately, you can download 2.6 which is built on long term up-datable Ubuntu 10.04...
Note: a large number of non-cult-like users of Ubuntu complain about serious wireless probelms with Ultimate Edition 2.8 and 2.9 that they do not have with Ubuntu 10.04 or higher.
I like UE but look all you need to do is examine the installed software, utilies, and settings and use that to modify Ubuntu 10.04 to suite you.
UE is not a true version which is while Ubuntu will neither recognize or assist the team. Its similar to what some tiny group did with an illegal build of Windows Vista and called it Gamerez.
Something that is legal and easier to do with a Linux distro. UE is no rebuild or real version built off Ubuntu. Its just a couple of guys settings and software installs and it is huge to boot.
Something like LinuxMint or Puppy is far more impressive and worthy of distro variant status.

That is quite harsh.
Unfortunately it is also a quite accurate and masterful summation of UE.
I would still be surprised if it did not reappear. And act like nothing at all had happened.
Certainly would not shock me if it never appeared again though. Thee Ego (Mann) is obviously not real stable.
I am still wading through the soap opera story, I mean thread, and there seems to be some good info in it. Last post is current and appears they have no more hard knowledge than anyone here.
I wondered about that the last time this type of thing happened. How does this bugger get such loyalty from such a diverse group?
But for what it is worth there it is. Hope it is of some use to some of those concerned.
OZ Unity sounds interesting too. May have to take a look at it myself.
So, UE will never come back?
I am so sad...........
It wasn't gone. On forum nothing about closing project either. Here is website. http://ultimateedition.info
Also downloadable .iso links can be found from DistroWatch distribution news sections.
