Will UE3.0 use Unity desktop?

Beats me. I would assume it would be there as it is a hard dependency. I would suspect that the gnome-fallback (castrated panels) would be favored by UE and probably enabled as default.

That is all a guess with no foundation at all. I am sure that the UE folks with any pull are as split as the rest of us on Unity. That being said, that makes it likely that the majority really do not like Unity (this could be personal prejudice - I hate it). That combined wit hthe history of UE which is all, of coarse, the old gnome panel desktop leads me to think the G3 panels will be the default.

I would also expect some effort at customizing Unity too though. That seems to me a given. How could any dev pass up the chance to bugger around with a brand new desktop?
