Maybe this is just a matter of terminology, but I'm running the same version of Thunderbird on Ubuntu MATE and it doesn't have a "deleted" folder. It does have a trash folder for each mail account in which deleted mail gets placed until I "empty trash."
Trash is a north american word, though the old world recognises it for what it is, however, the action is to 'delete' not to'trash', and my 'deleted/trashed mails are not to be found anywhere. I note too that that the 'deleted, trash' receptacle is also called the 'Recycled' bin. on other machines, however,we're smart enough to understand the inference.
All the Thunderbird instructions on the matter make it quite clear that i can choose where to send the deleted files at the point of deletion, however in the menus identified for these alterations, no such options exist.
a few days ago everything was as it has been since I started using thunderbird, and now, not only do I not have a 'deleted' folder, but I am oenied the opportunity to recover a mail, deletedby accident.
PartiZan, these sites and pages are quidance and help to be distributed, a wonderful aspect of the Linux world.
