Terrible FPS

I recently installed Ubuntu 6.06 and I am getting terrible FPS in UT2004. Just in the main menu I am getting <30 while in game it drops to around 19. I am running a Geforce FX 5200. Under Cedega, when I run the video tests, the GLXGears part runs fast, but when I run GLXGears outside of Cedega, it goes pretty slow, only giving me around 500fps. When I had Fedora Core installed, I was getting around 50 or 60 FPS in UT2004. I do have the Nvidia drivers installed via the repository and the xorg.conf configure correctly. glxinfo does say Direct Rendoring : Yes

Any ideas?

Thanks
Brandon

I personally do not know but Cedega possesses forums. I use to use them and they might possess an answer for you.
