right-click context menu and shortcut for it

I am using Linux Mint (KDE Community Edition), a version of kubuntu.

In Konqueror/Krusader, when a file is highlighted it is possible to right click with a mouse to bring up a window with a context menu of things (copy, view etc).

On Windows machines there is a shortcut available (Shift-F10).

Is there an equivalent programmed for kubuntu type OS?

If it is not, is it possible to do so and how can be done?

Help with this would be gratefully received.

Victor Warner.

You need to look at, and read up on KDE's "Service menus"
KDE's dcop is worth reading up on also.

Try these links: http://forums.opensuse.org/archives/...text-menu.html
http://developer.kde.org/documentati...vicemenus.html
kim is also worth looking at, as it is both useful and a great example of how this extra functionality is obtainable and customisable:

Thank you for the reply and useful information.

Looking into this at bit more:
  1. Location: Regional & Accessibility/Keyboard Shortcuts
  2. There is an entry for Popup Menu Context
  3. This is automatically assigned the the keyboard "menu" key (on the right handside of the keyboard next to the right control key)

This provides the functionality I was looking for. It is possible to assign an alternative shortcut but this feature does not appear to work.
