Remote Desktop Into Ubuntu Machine From XP Machine

Hi,

I have set up Remote Desktop on my Ubuntu machine at home, sorted out the firewall setting etc and I am now trying to access the machine via a Windows XP machine via the internet.

I am using RealVNC - as I have done with previous installation. The XP machine connects no problem and the screen of the Ubuntu machine is displayed. But I get no mouse cursor and the screen does not appear to refresh after the initial load. I can click on a menu...drop out of RealVNC and go back in and the menu is displayed - so the mouse action is getting to the Ubuntu machine but the screen information isn't getting back to the XP machine.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

James
