I am new to Ubuntu 8.10. I had a evolution e-mail account on my laptop and could send/receive messages OK. After receiving particular e-mail, my "Send/Receive" icon grayed out and ceased to be active.
I have the same installation on my desktop and the "Send/Receive" functions work normally there, so the problem is in the laptop??. I tried to re-install my "account" without success. Please help. thanks
Thanks, but I don't understand what you mean and how to do it.
I need to re-install my e-mail account. I am familiar with the procedure with Kmail, but am at a loss for Evolution.
What he means is there is a series of text menus across the top of the evolution window. Click on "File" and toward the bottom of the drop down menu you'll see an item pertaining to working on or off line. Change it to on. It appears that this toggel has been set to work off line which causes Evolution to function as if there's no Internet connection.
Thanks, I shall save your instructions in case I get screwed up again.
I had gone ahead and did a complete re-install of my Ubuntu and am OK now on both my laptop and my desktop.
Thanks again.
So every time you have a roblam you reinstall?
cool....
No, In this case I was installing a new distro and I had nothing on it and I had spent several days trying to find out how to do it. Next time which I hope won't happen until the next upgrade I will follow the suggestion of fragos.
But thanks for your interest.
