PS2 wheel mouse/wheel does not work

The wheel on my PS2 wheel mouse does not work. When I use the USB port using an adapter, it works fine. The wheel works with Puppy Linux, so I know the hardware is fine. Thank you.

I would try something here first: http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...,_PS/2,_USB%29 (linuxquestions.org)

It sounds to me like Puppy is detecting and configuring the mouse correctly, while Ubuntu (I assume that's the distro you are having the problem with?) is not.

Resolution to PS2 wheel mouse problem

I have Ubuntu installed on a Dell Latitude C840, and the wheel did not work. The wheel works with Windows, Puppy Linux, & Knoppix. I problem was solved when I upgraded the BIOS from A10 to A13.
