hi im running a duel boot winxp and fc4 on one pc and a single boot ubuntu on other pc. the problem im having is that for some reason i used a live cd and found mouse not to work on ubuntu pc and said to myself eh its nothing. i installed ubuntu from ship it cds and mouse still not working i tried mouse on other pc worked fine. its a microsoft optical ps2 mouse not wireless. is there anything im over looking as to why it dont work or has other ppl had this issue in the past? i really like ubunt u so plz help me with this if u can thank you
ok sorry if i confused anyone all im trying to say is my ms optical mouse isnt working on ubuntu and its seems to be ubuntu not the pc or mouse. if anyone can help plz im pulling my hair out. already 3/4 the way bald.
Don't know what X config file Ubuntu uses but you'll want to check the Section "InputDevice" in one of the following files... If it does use xorg.conf it's probably link to XF86Config anyway...
cat /etc/X11/XF86Config
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
It's probably an incorrect driver but not having an optical mouse I could not tell you what driver to use... do some google searches for ubuntu x config files for optical mouse...
