Problems with Synaptic

I am having difficulty installing and uninstalling appliaiton with syaptic.

Items that I mark to be uninstalled are not and items that are showing as installed I can not launch because appfinder can not find them.

I do get some error message but I do nto know how to cut and paste that error here.

Can someone tell me which log file I need to cut and paste here.

Go to Applications > Accessories > Terminal, type

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

and post the output here.

One problem that I possessed with apt referenced that I used a ubuntu guide that was for 5.04 when I was using 5.10. I made a change to the repositories which caused all types of problems.

Have you changed your repositories??

thanks for that link it is very usefull. I am not sure if my synaptic problem is solved though.

I had re-install Xubuntu32.
