Postfix mailbox location

Im using fetchmail/postfix/dovecot for my personal mail setup.
I moved to a new computer but I made a few changes.
My old /home from 8.04 caused some problems with 9.04 so
I mounted my /home under /data and just created a new /home.
Now my maildir is /data/wadesmart/Maildir instead of /home/wadesmart/Maildir.

After getting things setup I received this error:
Code:
postfix/local: status = bounced (cannot update mailbox
/home/wadesmart/data/wadesmart/Maildir for user wadesmart.)

I was reading the postfix manual and it says "Optional pathname of a
mailbox file relative to a local(8) user's home directory."
I read that to mean I cant put my mail outside of the /home dir.
Is this correct or is there something else here?

Wade

Apparently -> no.

I have read and read and from what I can tell, /Maildir needs to be in the /home dir so... Im moving it now

Ah, I correct myself - you can

http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.ht...pool_directory

I wont be taking advantage of this as I already moved all my mail over from the other partition - but its great for future reference.
