Arrow not installing

when installing ubuntu 5.10 and 6.0lts, it gives me a base system error message ,and the installation is aborted, ,can someone advise, thanks

Are these your discs or ones sent to you?

the ubuntu 5.10 is a iso from the net,
the 6.0lts was sent via post,

ubuntu 5.10 installed on a older system last year.

the 6.0lts disc would not install on any pc that was tried
