Networking Problem with NIC Card

Hello, I just transferred over from Sabayon Linux to try out Ubuntu I heard it was the best and its easy to use so I decided to try it out as well, however I do not know Ubuntu that well and do not know their Config Files as well.

I installed Ubuntu and it did not recognize my Linksys LNE 100TX NIC Card so i went to their website and downloaded the driver I needed. However the Readme is focused for users on Redhat and not ubuntu therefore I cannot complete the steps since the config files do not match, Where do i need to install this driver on Ubuntu for my internet to work??

my output of ifconfig:
Code:
azteka@azteka-desktop:~$ sudo modprobe tulip
[sudo] password for azteka:
azteka@azteka-desktop:~$ ifconfig

Retry DHCP

Since it finds the hardware address, I think your drivers are okay. But the IP address shows it hasn't been assigned by any DHCP server. It's a broadcast address, similar to 0.0.0.0 in the sense that it's not valid for anything but requesting an IP address. Try
Code:
sudo ifdown eth0
then
Code:
sudo ifup eth0

It's a relief to me that you found a solution, because I was totally stumped by that message.
Code:
ignoring unknown interface eth0=eth0

yaa it puzzled me as well, but it led to me find the configuration of eth0
This command helped me configure the eth0 and it worked perfectly.
Code:
sudo ip addr flush dev eth0 && sudo ip link set eth0 down
 > sudo ip link set eth0 up
 > sudo /sbin/dhclient eth0
