Network Problems

During the installation of Ubuntu I couldnt configure my network no matter what I tried. I tried disabling WEP, enabling it, tried configuring manually and it still wouldnt work.

I need to know how to fix this, in order to get internet on my ASUS M6Bne Laptop.

My router in D-Link D-624.

How would I go along configuring my network?

well i'm left assuming that you're problem is with wireless as you mentioned WEP< but you;ve not actually said so you need to provide more information though... what is the chipset of your wireless adapter? how far have you actually got with configuring it? are there any logs on the wireless router? what do "ifconfig" and "iwconfig" say about the states of the interface? does iwlist show any AP's?

iwconfig yields:

sit0 no wireless extensions

As I am aware there are no wireless logs, this also stems from the fact that I do not know how to check these logs. I have tried configuring the network through the installation process, however, it always stats that it has failed. I have also tried manually doing it by entering sudo iwconfig eth1 key/essid/ap etc, to no avail.

Yes, the laptop was working fine with the router with a Windows Installation.
