I found the problem!!

Just for the hell of it, I went into my bios and selected LBA instead of Auto.

Now everything is good! I can now boot, with a dual-boot option in grub!

I dont know WHAT the hell the difference was, or even what LBA means!
But it worked!

Report it as a bug - with Ubuntu.
Almost sounds like they are messing with CHS (in the CE install).

Leaving the BIOS as LBA should do no harm these days - I typically run all my systems that way to avoid unexpected issues like you saw.

Love to, but how do I report bugs? Never done it before!

Oh and regarding "messing with CHS (in the CE install)", I actually dumped CE and installed Dapper. Tryed rebooting and got the same results; Error loading operating system. THATS when I went into my Bios and selected LBA, So I dont think that it's CE.

Well I'd reckon that going to ubuntu.com, clicking support, then clicking "bug reporting" might be a start ...
It has pointers to some info, and you can get to Malone from there also. Have a feeling they must have moved the link - used to be on the home page IIRC.

Just report it as a (general) install issue.
