Locked out of Ubuntu 10.10 when computer is inactive

I am being locked out of Ubuntu 10.10 when I leave the computer inactive for a while. I have to enter the password get back into using the computer.
How can I eliminate this inconvenience ? On previous versions of Ubuntu the screen simply went blank when the computer was not in use. I would like to set like that.
Can anyone help ?
Thank you
elio

Don't know Ubuntu, but isn't it a problem with the screensaver? In most window managers one can set/unset the option that a password is required to switch away the screensaver... (of course in the screensaver options menu)

In Ubuntu 10.04 you can go to System->Preferences->Screensaver. There you can uncheck the box 'Lock screen when screensaver is active'. Not sure about ubuntu 10.10 but the procedure should be similiar.
