Klamav and LVM2 not visible in Hardy

I've tried installing Klamav and LVM2 on two different but almost identical machines with up-to-date installs of Ubuntu 8.04. The installs seemed to go fine with no error messages however, I can't find either under any of the menus.

I've tried complete uninstalls and re-installs with no success. Same whether using KDE or Gnome or logged in as a user or as root.

Can someone tell me how to access these apps?

Thanks for the help.
