Got it to work, switched machines

Okay, got Ubuntu isntalled on that old Pentium 2 stuff, but I decided to take the HD out and put it in a Server boc, built by Gallantry. Should be faster, has more RAM, etc. It's only a couple years old, and was eleven hundred bucks. All I did was plug hte HD in, so obviously there's gonna be hardware problems. So the GUI won't load, comes up with errors and to restart after it's been configured properly. Well, I -WAS- going to just uninstall and reinstall with it plugged into this machine, but I don't think there's a boot from CD ROM option here. So A) Is there a way to re-setup the GUI stuff without uninstalling, and B) If not, can I Get it to access the CD ROM to reinstall and reconfigure?

Thanks for the help!

Edit: By "GUI" stuff, I mean the XWindows server or configuration.

Try typing at the command line sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, which should let you change your settings. You can also reconfigure most of the install with sudo dpkg-reconfigure base-config.

Whoa, that didn't work out too well. I don't really know alot of the hardware in this, and the video card is built into the motherboard. I honestly don't know anything at all about this machine, so looking for an auto-configure, like when I installed it originaly, or just a complete re-install, heh. Sorry, I really am quite new to this stuff.
