Firefox version in Penta OS will not retain your saved bookmarks.
I installed the Penta OS version of Ubuntu and the version of Firefox that came with it would not retain my bookmarks on restarting Firefox.
My solution was to 'apt-get uninstall Firefox.
Penta OS would not let me install the latest version of Firefox with an incompatability notice.
So I installed one using the Package Manager called Firefox 2.
Now my bookmarks are retained.

Reason: Misleading title
Do you have a question, or was this just an FYI? It sounds like you got it to work, but I have a question for you, what is the "Penta" version of Ubuntu, I don't believe I have ever even heard of that one, although I am fairly new it so it's just my curiosity getting the best of me

Sorry about that. With my typing skills, I meant to type Pena OS.
It is a Windows look-alike based on Ubuntu.
My workaround was to uninstall Firefox that came with it and then reinstall with a lite version of Firefox.
Thanks for the reply.
