I want to install Ubuntu on a new hard drive using the alternate installer.
10.10's alternate installer hangs on partition formatting at 33%, which appears to be a well documented bug for which Google was unable to provide any help relevant to my situation (
http://www.google.com/search?client=...utf-8&oe=utf-8 ).
11.04's alternate installer gets past the partitioning issue, but then hangs on bug 762475, "Alternate installer asking to insert disc" (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/762475 ).
Anyone know whether I should start watching for sales on DVD+/-R media, or if there is a decent chance that 762475 will get fixed in the next week or so (as opposed to being addressed in 11.05 or 12.??)?
