Does Ubuntu fix installer bugs on final releases?

I want to install Ubuntu on a new hard drive using the alternate installer.

10.10's alternate installer hangs on partition formatting at 33%, which appears to be a well documented bug for which Google was unable to provide any help relevant to my situation ( ).

11.04's alternate installer gets past the partitioning issue, but then hangs on bug 762475, "Alternate installer asking to insert disc" ( ).

Anyone know whether I should start watching for sales on DVD+/-R media, or if there is a decent chance that 762475 will get fixed in the next week or so (as opposed to being addressed in 11.05 or 12.??)?

They have been making some major changes in the installer for the last two or three dev cycles. I would not hold my breath.

I would get a LiveCD and use it to format your drive and then use the Alt install CD to inst all the bugger.
