Cannot start Samba-why?
After modyfying the smb.conf file I'm trying to start Samba. I gave the command
(The smb file to control-start,stop,etc- is located in the dirs
/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/schemas/system/smb
/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/system/smb
/usr/lib/cups/backend/smb
which one is the right command?)
/........./smb start
but the terminal promts that the command does not exists
(in all dirs). What do I have to do to make Samba work??
The problem must be definitely on the Linux side because whenever I plug out the ethernet cable, the other PC(it's a 2 PC network I want to set up-crossover) with WinXP prompts that the cable is plug out-so it sees that another PC exists
