I just recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 and so far liking it. It's been awhile since I've used Ubuntu.

I have an AIO Brother MFC-5440cn usb printer and Brother's web site does offer .deb files, which i've installed and is working.

Only problem is when the page comes out, it is blank. I printed a Cups test page, which only showed a small color circle, but when I try to print any other page, website or documents, it always comes out blank.

I also ran debian awhile back and it did the same thing, print blanks.

It seems only two distros will print, Mandriva & Fedora. Those have .rpm from Brother's site.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I believe I did had to create /usr/share/cups/printermodel. I was also following along with a post on the Ubuntu forum.

Everything is working except doing the print out itself, it always comes out blank. When I had debian installed it was the same way.
