a la carte menu

Hi-

I can't find how to open a la carte menu. In one search a web page had a hyperlink that launched it but I'd like to know the key shortcut or
other way of launching it.

I just switched from fedora. I like Unity so far. I will have to do some studying though.

thanks for any assistance.
