LinuxQuestions.org Podcast

As those of you who read my blog know, LQ will soon be doing a podcast. We're almost ready to go, and I just posted a test. I'm looking for feedback not only on the sound quality, but also on what you would like to hear on the podcast. Thanks.

The clarity is fantastic Jeremy, but the volume is very low... As for what should be on it, I'm not sure... Perhaps we could set up to broadcast various, frequently asked, how-to sessions? Just a thought, I don't know how it would work out though..

Probably just some recorded interviews if that becomes possible... That would be cool to listen to..

jeremy, don't know if you allready fixed the sound, but on my end, it worked just fine. Would be interesting to put a face to the mods. I have seen the pictures that have been posted, but to hear and see a face would be nice. Keep up the good work.

Sound quality's good Jeremy, quite crisp/clear - "volume" seems ok - all in all, a good start I'd say

I think its a great idea. I read about it when you posted and was interested to see what came of it. Something is :-)

And, I vote for Chris's content as well (maybe a bit about music and Linux...)

So maybe I just need to dive in, however, as I don't have a means currently, I'll throw the question out:
Is this more than simple 'internet radio' then? I see that you can download the content afterwards, but I've seen many a show where this is possible, both in mp3 and ogg format (I believe the LinuxShow is one example). Is this a high quality internet radio, something like what hdtv is to TV?

Cool

I second the interview idea, though I imagine many of the interviews are conducted over email, in which case, the long dreary sound of keyboard taps don't quite hit the spot I was looking for.

Cool

It's slightly different than internet radio in that it is prerecorded, not live. It uses RSS enclosures to allow you to subscribe to it. You can download software such as iPodder that will search for podcasts based on the keywords you give it and then download them and sync them to your mp3 device automatically. Of course you can also just download it and listen to it manually like any other mp3.

I listened to this the other night, the volume was good, the recording was crisp, and the clarity was high. I give it a thumbs up. I was just hoping that "Developers!!" would continually loop in the background -- J.W.

Listening to the latest release, Jeremy - sound quality's still "clear/crisp" - volume's ok.
