Hello everyone, a linux newb here needs some help.

I installed suse 9.2 and everything is working fine but I can't connect to my wireless network.

I tried to configure it using Yast and it didn't work. My question is what are the steps I have to do to get it to work.

When I run commands such as ifconfig -a I get a listing of lo, eth0, and eth1. When I want to use one of those in a command such as iwconfig eth0 [command] it says bad or no such device. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, yast sees my wireless network card, but really I'm stuck now.

The card is an Airlink 802.11g card incase that helps.

So really I need to know the steps on what to do, how to get eth0 or eth1 recognized with the wireless card, or do I have this all wrong.

I had the same problem with my USR PCI card. I used a guide at House Of Craig which went through it all step by step.

It only works for certain chipsets, so you need to check if your card is based on the same chip before you try it out. I think it tells you how to carry out that check in the guide as well.
