Question WebSphere on SUSE versus WebSphere on AIX

I have been given an interesting mission at work. By default, we host WebSphere application server on AIX LPARs on Power 5 or Power 6. FINALLY we are getting requests for run it on Linux on Intel (YES) so my boss wants me to justify spending the money to build a SUSE Linux infrastructure to offer them.

Long story short, he wants me to put a powerpoint together showing the performance of WebSphere on AIX on Power5 compared to WebSphere on SUSE Linux on VMWare on Intel.

I am trying to see if that information is already out there somewhere in an article or a whitepaper before we spend a few months in a lab. Does anyone know where I could find information like this and finally get SUSE Linux as a supported OS at work?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
