usb modem

Thought I'd try Suse/novell 'cause it free with mag.
Like the look & feel & install went ok but!!

YasT reports that the the modem device is /dev/ttyACM0 as it should be.

ttyACM0 is not loading under /dev (or anywhere else,for that matter)

Why is it so??

Could be winmodem, could be bug in loading usbcore module. If you have mixed usb types (1.1 and 2) there are problems sometimes with recognition of devices. Do some googling with the error codes you get after a dmesg in a terminal.

Hope you make out OK, I have wrestled with similar problems.

Thanks for the reply. I have my ext modem supplied by my phone company for isdn going fine under 3 other distro's. The same can't be said for suse.
