usb modem not working with SuSe10 on PIV .915 chipset


Installed SuSe 10 on desktop PIV 915 gav chipset, along with windows XP 80 gb and 40 gb (serial ATA) between them. Microsoft intelli kbd and mouse works ok. KDE GUI fine. Except usb modem though listed in the hardware. Configuring internet thru command line, YAST and Konqueror are of no use Please do help . Thanks in advance

I am sorry to tell you that there is very little success with usb modems. I have seen similar questions in other mailing lists with no responses. You might want to buy a serial modem. I am using one currently, and have used it with three different distros of linux. HTH

There is a website you can go to and do an express search for compatible Suse Linux 10 modems. I had the OS on my computer for a week before I could get onto the Internet. Go to:
