trying to rune IE 6

Hi,

I installed WINE and am trying to run ie 6 sp1 on my linux box. I downloaded the net installer from MS webpage and then ran wine IESETUP.exe in the terminal. Well, IE installed and it is present under ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Internet Explorer

then I get this error in the terminal
Code:
tlarkin@linux-shop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Internet Explorer> wine IEXPLOR

I would suggest using IEs4Linux - takes all the pain and hassle out installing IE.

Worked like a charm, thanks! I am now using IE 6 to browse a heavy active x webpage that i need to access almost daily for work. This makes me another step closer to not running windows at all!

I need to get my remote desktop to work as well so I can remote into windows xp machines. I was thinking perhaps vnc over an ssh tunnel so it is encrypted, any thoughts on that idea?

thanks again for the link!

Not from me, but I believe a number of users on the boards use X forwarding or VNC over an SSH tunnel here.
